Photo Library

Upon request, our Photo Library can research and provide you with reproductions of artefacts from our collection. You may use the photos for private, scientific or commercial purposes in exchange for the appropriate fee. This is calculated on the basis of the price list recommended by the Deutsche Mittelstandsgesellschaft Foto-Marketing (German Association of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses for Photomarketing).

At present, the Photo Library stocks around

• 16,000 prints
• 18,000 negatives
• 3,000 Ektachromes
• 12,000 digital reproductions

with reproductions of artefacts taken from the collections of the Stadtmuseum Berlin.

The Photo Library is currently transitioning from being an analogue image archive to becoming a digital Photo Library. This is therefore also leading to a transition from the conventional management of analogue pictures to the electronic management of digital reproductions. In this area, we will be implementing the DAPHNE web-supported documentation system. This system will also allow us to make accessible and manage the analogue pictures that we have collected in the past.
